1- Fast Curing
2- Low Modulus
SAVETO PU has fast skinning time & a track free time of 3-4 hours which significantly reduce dirt-pick
SAVETO PU has an exceptional movement capability of +100/-50 will not crack or craze under UV exposure
SAVETO PU is one component sealant quick, easy to apply that offers excellent performance in moving joints and exhibits tenacious adhesion once fully cured
SAVETO PU is a high performance one-component, low modulus, moisture curing polyurethane sealant. Does not require a primer on most construction materials, and exhibits tenacious adhesion once fully cured.
Typical applications for SAVETO PU include
Expansion & control joints, precast concrete panel joints, perimeter caulking (windows, door, panels), EIFS, aluminum, masonry, vinyl siding, water tanks, parapets, tilt wall joints, curtain wall construction.
SAVETO PU meets or exceeds the requirements of the following specifications
ASTM C 920 Type S, Grade NS, Class 100/50, Use NT, M, A, and O
U.S. Federal Specification TT-S-00230C, Class A, Type II
Canadian Standard CAN/CGSB-19.13-M87
The product is available in grey and white
600ml sausages. (15 Sausages / Carton).
No. of sausage = Joint width (mm) x joint depth (mm) x joint length (Liner meter) / 1000 x 0.6
For good adhesion, the joint interface must be sound, clean and dry pending on the substrate, or presence of from release agents, masonry or laitance, architectural paints or finishes, the joint surface may require a thorough wire brushing, washing and/or primer.
SAVETO PU may be used in any vertical or horizontal joint designed in accordance with accepted architectural/engineering practices. Joint width should be 4 times anticipated movement, but not less than (6.4mm).
Closed cell or reticulated polyethylene backer rod is recommended as joint backing to control sealant depth and to ensure intimate contact of sealant with joint walls when tooling. Where depth of joint will prevent the use of backer rod, an adhesive backed polyethylene tape (bond breaker tape) should be used to prevent three-sided adhesion. All backing should be dry at time of sealant application
W = Sealant width, D = Sealant depth, C = Contact area.
The minimum width and depth of any sealant application should be 6mm by 6mm.
a. The depth (D) of sealant may be equal to the width (W) of joints that are less than 12.7mm wide. For joints ranging from 13mm to 25mm wide, the sealant depth should be approximately one-half on the joint width.
b. The maximum depth (D) of any sealant application 13mm.
For fillet beads or angle beads around windows and doors, the sealant should exhibit a minimum surface contact area (C) of 6.4mm onto each substrate.
SAVETO PU are easy to apply with conventional caulking equipment. Fill joint completely with a proper width-to-depth ratio and tool.
Cleaning of tools
Tooling is recommended immediately after application to insure firm and intimate contact with the joint interface. Dry tooling is preferred although tooling agents can be utilized. Excess sealant and smears adjacent to the joint should be removed before sealant cures.
Do not apply over damp or contaminated surfaces.
SAVETO warrants its sealants to be free of defects in materials
